Final recflection

Arts Bridge was an amazing learning experience. gained a lot of classroom experience and had a blast at the same time. My favorite part was helping the students enjoy making art and feeling good about what they made. I never heard any of the students say that they weren't good enough to do these art projects; every student was excited every week I came with a new art project. They worked at different paces but they all finished their projects and created work they were proud to show off. I enjoyed giving students one on one time to help them with technical skill and give them personal guidance, they seemed to like the attention and applied what they learned. My classroom management skill were minimal at the start; this was my first experience in the classroom. By the end of the semester I had picked up on some of Lori's techniques and could get the classroom's attention when needed. I gained a better understanding of what 2nd graders are capable of and what they still need developing in when is comes to art project. I was glad to have resources and help with integrating the curriculum into the projects and thinking back wish I had used them a bit more. Overall it was a worthwhile experience for me, Lori, and the students. I'd be happy to do it again.

Final Show for Parents

After all of the fun art projects we decided to put together a show for the parents. At each student's desk was a display of some of their artwork along with an artists statement. We had a little art show and invited all of the parents. The students' artwork was displayed in another show the school put together about different cultures. In this show they used their petroglyph and clay pieces.

Christmas Time

In this project the students worked on cutting, pasting, and design. This project was pretty well structured and still allowed the students to be creative with their color, scale, space, and design choices. I taught them about perspective and balance and they used what they learned in this project.

Finished clay project

We finished our clay pots and sculptures by painting them with Acrylics. The students had fun using the colors of their choice and getting a little messy in the process. They loved and were very proud of their finished work.
